"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" Matthew 5:8
We need the Lord’s help to be pure. We can pray and ask and we should. Yet, we need to be so desperate for purity that we cry out for help.
I have five children and if I heard them call for me I probably would respond. But how I would respond would depend upon the urgency in their voice. If they really cried out to me for help, I would do whatever it took to reach them and help them.
If I, a sinful father, would respond to the cry of my children, how much more will your Heavenly Father respond to your cry for help.
Scripture makes it clear we are to do this. Psalm 50:15 says, “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee and thou shalt glory me.”
That call is a desperate cry for help and comes from a heart of humility. God will hear your cry and will deliver you.
Are you willing to fall on your face and cry out loud to the Lord for deliverance? Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.” (James 4:10)
Cry out to God. He is our Deliverer and He will deliver you.
