"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God" Matthew 5:8

By God’s wonderful design, what you think in your heart will come out in your life. Therefore it is imperative for purity that you think right thoughts. What better thoughts to think than Scripture? Memorizing Scripture is actually thinking God’s thoughts after Him.
The psalmist David clearly explained the benefit of memorizing large portions of Scripture. “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against God” (Psalm 119:11).
It takes time, energy and effort to make our hearts pure. Our hearts are “desperately wicked” and we must be desperate for purity.
Though it is hard work and work that continues throughout life, a pure heart is worth it. Start memorizing large portions of Scripture today and every word will bring life, light and purity.
Romans 6 and 8 are two great passages to memorize. The fruit of Romans 6 is victory over sin and the fruit of Romans 8 is walking in the Spirit.
These and other large portions of Scripture grafted into our hearts produce the fruit of purity. We will also begin to see God’s pattern of thinking.
Are you willing work to be pure? I believe and hope you are.
